This blog update is coming a bit late, I've been on the go go go for the past week or so and have been settling into the rhythms of orientation in Bandung. Before dazzling you with lovely hotel temptations and escapades, I will first show you my school! SO..upon arriving in Jakarta I was met in the airport by my Counterpart, Puteri and a car from my school! My school is an Islamic Boarding School located in Tangerang, West Java, Indonesia. Tangerang is very much a city! And FULLY loaded with Angkots [public mini-buses], motorbikes [like the one above, except usually with 3 people piled on one], cars, and many other vehicles. The photo above is by the entrance of my school.

My school is a co-ed boarding school with all the students hailing from all over Indonesia! All the students board on campus. There are 2 boys dorms and 2 girls dorms. Many of the teachers live on campus in the teachers' dorm. Teachers also live in an apartment building or small houses on campus--or they simply commute--well not so simply, some live a couple hours away! I have not yet moved into my house, which will be located next to the principal's--but am hoping to when I return from my 3 week orientation in Bandung.

During the week I was at my school I had the opportunity to explore a bit with Puteri. Below are some photos I took at a gorgeous open market. To get to the market we took Ojeks--which are motorbikes driven by men--you hop on the back and tell them where to go!
