Jakarta-->Bandung! Let orientation begin!

WELCOME TO JAKARTA!

After everyone spent a week at their sites, we all met up in Jakarta before heading to Bandung for orientation. Here are a few photos of Jakarta from my hotel room window!

So. much. traffic. In Jakarta we experienced all forms of transportation. Taxis, ojeks, and small traditional carts I can't remember the name of. Our one and only night in Jakarta we spent in China town we sang karaoke in a private room!

Here are some pictures that were taken on the ride to Bandung. Bandung is a city located about 2 hours from Jakarta. It is located in the mountains, making it 20 degrees cooler than Jakarta. Feels like heaven compared to the scorching temps of 92 degrees and humidity daily in Tangerang.

Rice fields!--they are so beautiful and artistic.

Funky art work on the highway structure. There were numerous pillars covered in these sick cool colors and designs.

When we first arrived at our gorgeous hotel in Bandung we were greeted by beautiful Indonesian dancers performing a traditional Indonesian dance [ oh and also moist towels and iced tea!]
