It is said that Cobra blood brings vitality to those who drink it. Of course the eager ETAs that we are, we were ready to try it out. A big group of us went to a restaurant that serves cobra meat and blood. All the snakes are kept in the back room where the kitchen is. A bunch of us took part in the process of killing the snake...and then eventually drinking the blood and eating the cooked meat.
While our snakes were being prepared a boy and his mother were served the cobra's blood. For adults the blood is mixed with some sort of vodka/alcohol and for kids it is mixed with honey. The mom easily tipped hers back. Her son..not so much. He was gagging on it, which did not ease our nerves haha.
The snake man was extremely comfortable teasing the snake and actively made it hiss and puff up!
And then the big mama came out...
