Holiday Travels Part 3: Chiang Mai, Thailand

After sunbathing and exploring in Phuket, we made our way up north to Chiang Mai. I can easily say, that Chiang Mai is one of my favorite cities. Ever. It is vibrant, peaceful, beautiful, thoughtful, and simply wonderful. A great place to go to after Phuket. Chiang Mai is full of gorgeous Buddhist temples and colorful night markets. The food, once again, is incredible. I could live only on it. Enjoy the photos! Sorry for the lack of descriptions/stories.. I am waaaay behind on my blog because the internet hasn't worked at my school and home for oh, the month of January. Welcome to Indonesia dear friends : ) Anyway, below there are photos of delicious food, tigers--yes tigers, temples galore, and other delightful things.

Pineapple Curry in a pineapple..can't beat that!

In Chiang Mai we heard about a Tiger park, where tigers are raised and taken care of so we decided to go check it out. We had the chance to play with some cute tiger cubs and cuddle some big mamas. The largest tigers shown here are only 2 years old! All the tigers are born and raised here and are not on any drugs. The big ones are sleeping because it was hot and in the middle of the day! Below are the tiger cubs, which were just a couple months old at the time. This trip, taught me that I am also allergic to tigers haha (along with regular cats).

After our visit to the Tiger Kingdom we stopped by the Orchid Sanctuary. I took tons of photos--here are a few!

I saw many beautiful temples all over Chiang Mai:

Wat Doi Suthep (famous temple in the hills)

Wat Suan Dok--where I learned how to meditate with Kavi, my new monk pen pal
